Barco visualizes complex 3D data of offshore oil gathering research project
Brazil is at the forefront of offshore petroleum gas exploitation in deepwater environments. To retain this edge, Petrobras, Brazil's leading oil company, invests heavily in research and development. One of the secrets behind each and every new breakthrough is TPN (Portuguese for “Numerical Offshore Tank), a sophisticated laboratory at the Polytechnic of the University of São Paulo (USP) that simulates the behavior of maritime oil platforms on the high seas.
When the University recently decided to set up a complete 4D visualization room to display the simulation results and an extra room to enhance collaboration, it turned to Barco. Barco supplied the necessary projectors and visualization software to make both projects a success.
